Chris Shirer's career in communications began in broadcasting as a radio and television personality in cities from Boston to Pittsburgh, Tampa to Buffalo. Shortly after arriving in Columbus, Ohio, she worked as an independent video writer/producer focusing on marketing and advertising communications.
Her projects included a 'Just In Time' production video for McDonald's International Manager Conference and the IPO video for Abercrombie & Fitch which was distributed both internally and to Wall Street analysts.
As her clients' requests for interactive communications increased, Chris turned her training and attention online and began offering website services in 1999. The team assembled today as Madison & Fifth are responsible for all work displayed in the 'Clients' section of the website.
Chris manages all new business development and client relationships and is the primary contact for vendors, potential employees and contractors. She is the lead on all business purpose and strategy work with clients and is the person who executes site reviews and competitive analyses.

Chris Fry
Senior Web Architect
Chris Fry joined the company in 2005 as Project/Content Director and has become an integral participant in the definition and execution of all client projects that pass through Madison & Fifth. Chris works with clients to define the specifications and architecture of their projects then architects and configures those projects.
Chris oversees content management operations for our client sites. He is an accomplished artist, having attained a BFA from Miami University of Ohio. His design insight is a valued asset to the team.
His prior experience with a local firm specializing in non-profit websites and with Compuserve have added great value to several projects and helped us define our client service system.
Kathy Hart
Art Director
Kathy Hart completed a master's level education in Interactive Design from The Ohio State University. She is responsible for the design of all sites shown in the Madison & Fifth portfolio. Her instinctive ability to create user-friendly interfaces while maintaining the integrity of the client's brand identity is a unique talent.
Clients enjoy the feedback process with Kathy and the persistent refrain is, “She got us just right!” She is adored by our technical team members for her ability to productively deal with requirements that feel more like science than art. She is responsible for walking clients through the first draft of interface designs from which clients make their revisions and, ultimately, final selection.
Kathy’s prior experience included agency and corporate interactive design positions with Lord, Sullivan & Yoder and Bank One.
The Rocket
Architect of Happiness
The Rocket is a Pomeranian in charge of greeting and seating. He is partial to crunchy snacks of any kind. His motto is '“Why yap when you can nap.” 2008 winner of the Quietest Small Dog in America contest.
